How AI can protect the world’s most endangered animals

In concert with nine animal conservation groups, USC Viterbi School of Engineering’s Center for Artificial Intelligence in Society is in the midst of a massive deployment of predictive artificial intelligence software known as Protection Assistant for Wildlife Security (PAWS) in an effort to fight poachers globally. This planned rollout — in nearly 600 wildlife parks across 55 countries — has incredible potential to aid the humans on the front lines of protecting animals.
